These Terms and Conditions govern your use of NewsHub (www.newskenya.net), operated by News Kenya. By using the site, creating an account or buying an advert you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

1. The service

NewsHub (a) displays headlines, summaries and links collected from third-party publishers, and (b) lets registered users buy paid classified adverts and banner placements. We may change, suspend or withdraw any part of the service at any time.

2. News content

News headlines, summaries and images belong to their respective publishers and are shown with a link to the original source. We do not verify third-party stories and are not responsible for their accuracy. Publishers who want content removed can email marto300x@gmail.com and we will act promptly.

3. Accounts

You must be 18 or older and provide accurate information. You are responsible for keeping your password secret and for all activity under your account. Tell us immediately if you suspect unauthorised use.

4. Classified adverts and banners

Adverts must be lawful, truthful, not misleading and must not infringe anyone's rights.
Prohibited: illegal goods or services, counterfeit items, weapons, drugs, adult content, scams (including advance-fee or pyramid schemes), hate speech, and anything that breaks Kenyan law.
Every advert is reviewed by our team before it goes live. We may reject, edit, suspend or remove any advert at our discretion, with or without notice.
You are solely responsible for your advert, for the goods or services advertised and for any dealings with buyers. We are not a party to transactions between users.
Buyers should meet in public places, inspect goods before paying and never send money to people they have not met.

5. Fees and payment

Prices are shown in KES and are payable in advance through our payment partners (Paystack, M-Pesa/cards where enabled, or Stripe). Taxes, where applicable, are included or shown separately.
An advert is submitted for review only after payment is confirmed. Duration starts when the advert is approved.
Fees are non-refundable once an advert or banner has been published, except where required by law or where we reject or remove an advert through no fault of yours – in which case you may resubmit it or request a refund.
Renewals and upgrades (Featured, Promoted) are charged at the then-current price.

6. Your content

You keep ownership of what you post, but give us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to display, store, resize and promote it on NewsHub and on our social media accounts for as long as it is live and for a reasonable period afterwards.

7. Acceptable use

Do not: attempt to hack, overload or scrape the site beyond normal use; upload malware; impersonate others; or use the service for unlawful purposes. Breaches of the Computer Misuse and Cybercrimes Act, 2018 may be reported to the authorities.

8. Intellectual property

The NewsHub name, logo, design and software are owned by News Kenya or its licensors. You may not copy or reuse them without written permission.

9. Disclaimer and liability

The service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent permitted by Kenyan law, News Kenya is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, for third-party content or adverts, or for outages beyond our control. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, nor limits your rights under the Consumer Protection Act, 2012.

10. Privacy and cookies

Our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy explain how we handle personal data and use cookies.

11. Termination

We may suspend or close accounts that breach these terms. You may close your account at any time by emailing marto300x@gmail.com.

12. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of Kenya. We will try to resolve any dispute amicably first; failing that, the courts of Kenya (Nairobi) have jurisdiction.
